I corrected the colors to make the note more pronounced and filtered it a little to give it a hand-painted look using the open-source GNU Image Manipulation Program. I did that to prevent artifacts from scaling up poorly after scaling up a version with ESRGAN. I think the results stay true to the original while being legally distinct. It looks like a lot of effort went into making an annoying reference that only a bunch of sad Millennials will get. Luckily for me, it was a breeze.
Come on, you remember the default album art, right? When you ripped songs from the CD but iTunes didn’t recognize it automatically? Or downloaded indie tracks from NewGrounds that came with no art at all?
